Lowak Shoppala' (Fire and Light), for Orchestra and Children's Chorus, premieres as part of the opening celebrations of the new Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulpher, Oklahoma. The work's premire features the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra, Chickasaw Children's Choir, Chickasaw Nation Dance Troupe and the Chickasaw Nation Living History Players.

Narrative is by Linda Hogan, Chickasaw author and Pulizer Prize finalist. Set and costume design is by Chickasaw artist Margaret Roach Wheeler, 2009 “Best of Class” winner, Heard Museum Indian Fair & Market.

Lowak Shoppala' was commissioned by the American Composers Forum Continental Harmony program and produced by the Chickasaw Nation.
